Teen Classes

Classes for new teen drivers

Instruction consists of 24 hours of class time and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel, one-on-one instruction time.  This class fulfills the State of Ohio's Driver Education Requirement for all license applicants under 18 years of age.

Class sessions are from 6:00 pm through 9:05 pm, Monday through Thursday for two consecutive weeks.

During the summer we also offer a morning class running from 9:00 am to 12:05 pm, Monday through Thursday, for two consecutive weeks.  Summer morning and evening classroom sessions run concurrently.  Students can switch between the morning and evening classes if it fits their schedule better as long as class sessions are not full.

New classes start every Monday.  Registration for new students starts at about 5:40 pm (8:40 am for morning classes) and consists of the Parent and Student completing an Agreement form, a simple emergency medical form, making payment, and receiving a copy of the signed agreement.  Registration typically takes about 15 minutes.  All registration must be completed before class starts at 6:00 pm.

Classroom material covers topics such as:

The one-on-one behind-the-wheel driving time is done in one or two-hour sessions scheduled around the students activities.  Scheduling for in-car time can occur any time after the student has attended their first class.  Students are typically picked up at home or school for their driving sessions, provided their home or school is located within our general service area.  Some of the many topics covered in the behind-the-wheel lessons are rural, residential, city, and highway driving, maneuverability and parking, and the necessary techniques to perform these tasks.

Reservations for a seat in the class can be made ahead of time by phoning our office at 330-966-1211.  Students may also pre register using this website.  Walk-ins are always welcome provided classes are not full.

Juvenile Driver Improvement Program

For people who had their license suspended while under the age of 18 year.

Our Juvenile Driver Improvement Program (JDIP) fulfills the requirement from a Court ordered six hour remedial class and serves students from across the state of Ohio. We cover all the course work needed to meet the court and state requirements and provide your certificate necessary to get your driver's license back upon completion of this course.

Our JDIP course is approved by the Ohio Department of Public Safety and certificates are issued through their system and recognized and accepted as valid by every court and BMV in the State of Ohio.

JDIP classes are typically held on the first Saturday of each month from 8:00 am to 2:40 pm.  Lunch is provided by us.  Students must use the JDIP registration page or call our office at 330-966-1211 to reserve a spot for this class.  We do not cancel the JDIP class due to low enrollment, but you must contact us prior to coming class to let us know that you plan on attending.

What to bring to the JDIP class: Students must bring identification (passport, work ID, school ID, state ID or driver license, etc) and their driver's license number.

Students must bring their driver's license number with them to class in order for us to issue their certificate of completion that day.  If the student does not know their driver's license number, it can also be found on any speeding tickets, accident reports, or traffic citations and may be on documents received from the BMV or court.  It is formatted as two letters followed by 6 numbers (like TX123456)  . Your driver's license number can be obtained from the BMV website at www.OHIOBMV.com if you have a key number which is found on certain BMV notices.  To obtain a letter by mail that contains the key number, you can contact Valerie Luptak, Driver Training Manager , Ohio Traffic Safety Office at 614-466-0383, or by requesting a letter containing the key number from the BMV phone staff at (614) 752-7500 or from your regional reinstatement office.
Your driver's license number can also be obtained by purchasing a new ID or a drivers abstract from a local BMV office.

We do not have access to driver's license information and cannot provide your license number to you.  You must obtain your license number from the State of Ohio.

Please plan on arriving at 7:45 am on the day of class to complete the registration process. If you need directions to our classroom location, please call our office or visit our location page for maps and directions.
